od product listing results in high sales. There are 3 key parts of a product listing; the title, description, and photos. In this article we will look at how to optimize these 3 areas to make a
product that stands out.
The title is the initial attention-grabber of the product because not everyone will see the product description rather some people will just look at the product title only. Do you ever wonder why makeup companies name their makeup shades snazzy names instead of just describing the shade? They are looking for a title that invokes emotion, is easy to remember, tell about the product and grabs the attention of the potential buyer. Depending on the category a title can be more descriptive or a little trendier. This is where it’s important to know your target audience.
The description is where you introduce the product to the potential buyers. With online stores, it is very likely that the customer will not have seen the product at all before purchasing so you want to make the description as detailed and enticing as possible. Avoid too lengthy and boring kind of descriptions.
Descriptions should include following whenever possible:
a) Product measurement
c) Materials used
d) Any other information about the product that you think is important for your customers.
Having a well-defined description reduces refunds because customers have a good idea of what to expect, and they know what they are buying.
I cannot say enough about the importance good product photos. Product photos are the key to online sales on your site and on social media. The photos are usually the first thing people look at. If the photos aren’t good enough or catchy, then they will most likely not going to read product title and description.
Some elements of a good product photo are lighting, model and background. Some photos look good with a minimal props and background while others look good with a scene. It is also a good idea to use multiple views of the product on the listing so they can get a full view and often answer any question before they arise.
